Aquatech Canadian Water Services is one of the largest private Canadian operations teams of Water and Wastewater treatment plants.
We are currently hiring a Water Distribution and Supply Operator for full-time position in Greater Toronto Area. Certified operators are responsible for performing such duties as: conducting operational checks; adjusting, testing, or evaluating a process that controls the effectiveness or efficiency of a drinking water subsystem or wastewater facility; adjusting or directing flow, pressure, or quality of water or wastewater.

· Good knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes to operate the facilities.
· Working experience/knowledge of the skilled trades for the maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment.
· Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant regulatory and legislative acts, codes, policies, guidelines and procedures related to water and wastewater operations and maintenance; health and safety procedures/WHMIS.
· Good knowledge of the relevant regulatory and legislative acts, codes, policies, guidelines and procedures related to water and wastewater operations and maintenance, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and health and safety procedures.
· Knowledge of water/sewer construction.
· Knowledge of basic mathematics and chemistry to make calculations for chemical and operating processes.
• Must have good knowledge of computers, including monitoring and operating systems.
• Problem-solving, planning and scheduling skills required to effectively inspect, operate and monitor the facilities processes and equipment.
• Must have knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e. Safe Drinking Water Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Canadian Environmental Protection Act)
• Class 1 or higher WDS, WT, WWT, WWC (any)
• Ability to perform analysis.
• Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance; take samples, interpret results and make process control adjustments to resolve operating issues.
• Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints and other technical specifications; use and storage of industrial chemicals
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (asset)
• Valid class “G” drivers license in good standing
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to perform some heavy lifting and physical labour
• Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative.
• Good oral and written communication skills to liaise with a variety of people including coworkers, clients, suppliers, while keeping accurate logs and writing reports.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
