Description

Aquatech Canadian Water Services is a privately held Canadian corporation established in 2004, specializing in management, operations, and maintenance services for both Water and Wastewater facilities. Aquatech Canadian Water Services is one of the largest private Canadian operations teams of Water and Wastewater treatment plants.

 

We are currently hiring an Operator in Training for full-time position in Greater Toronto Area. Water distribution and supply OIT is a training position in which an operator has the opportunity to work on the field under supervision. On-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of water/sewer construction.
  • Performing water quality and system tests and taking corrective action
  • Assist in the collection of bacteriological samples
  • Assist in inspection of mainline valves, fire hydrants, appurtenances within distribution system
  • Complete reports on daily basis for hydrant inspection projects
  • Complete reports on daily basis for flushing program projects
  • Ensures all work performed is in compliance with relevant standards, regulations and legislation
  • Attend training programs and certifications as necessary
  • Participate in rotational on-call programs
  • Other tasks and assignments as required

Mandatory Requirements

 

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Ability to perform some heavy lifting and physical labour

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

• Valid class “G” drivers license in good standing

• Must have a working knowledge of computers

• Must have knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e. Safe Drinking Water Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Canadian Environmental Protection Act)

• OIT Water Distribution and Supply

• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (asset)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Professional level of English (B2)
